Investigation continues into deadly robbery attempt in South Nashville
Four men approached outside an apartment in South Nashville and demanded all their belongings.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Metro Nashville Police are investigating a deadly shooting stemming from a robbery early Sunday morning.
Police said 37-year-old Francisco Ico Anx was killed outside his friend’s apartment on Patricia Drive.
Anx’s friend told police they were hanging out outside his apartment when they were approached by four suspects who demanded their belongings. When Anx fought back, one of the suspects shot him in the stomach. They then shoved the second victim to the ground, threatening to kill him if they moved.
The suspects took the man’s wallet, passport, Guatemalan ID, and cash before fleeing on foot.
Anx was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.
The friend told detectives the suspect who shot his friend was around 5’6” tall and appeared to be in his mid-20s. He said he also had short hair around the ears and neck, longer on top. The gunman who threatened to kill him appeared to be in his mid-30s and around 5’8” tall with a long beard.
