Early voters see wide range of wait times across Nashville
Your wait time will likely depend on which location you go to.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Early voting is underway and with only a few days left to vote early, some are keeping an eye on long wait times.
WSMV4 was at various early voting locations across Nashville and voters shared a wide range of wait times.
At the Bordeaux Library, Calvin and Donna Smith decided to cast their ballot Monday afternoon.
For the Smiths, they said they spent less than five minutes voting.
“We were out as soon as we walked in,” the Smiths said. “We walked in and the lady asked us, waited on us and got our ballot and everything. She showed us where to go and we were in and out.”
The Smiths said they spent about two to three minutes in the library.
The pair said that was even shorter than the last time they voted at the Bordeaux Library.
“It was a line the last time we voted it was probably about 15-20 minutes,” Donna said.
And they weren’t the only ones another voter there said, “It was very fast. Easy voting. Walked straight in no wait.”
Meanwhile, at the Green Hills Library, poll workers there told us they‘ve seen a consistent line every day since early voting started on Oct. 16.
One voter at the Green Hills Library said, “It’s all the way to the back of the library.”
Voters told us they’ve waited anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes at this location. Some voters like Susan Logan have even been tracking the lines themselves.
“Previous days before today they had been lined up all the way down the road so I was just lucky to get a parking place,” Logan said.
When she noticed the line wasn’t out the door this morning she decided to go in and vote.
“I only waited in line 15 minutes altogether,” Logan said.
Early voting ends this Thursday, and Tuesday is the last day you can request an absentee ballot.
