Renewed call for answers in Nashville firefighter’s death
In 2018, Reed’s truck plunged into the water in Waverly. His body was found 12 days later.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - This week marks six years since Nashville firefighter Jesse Reed was found dead.
In 2018, Reed’s truck plunged into the water in Waverly. His body was found 12 days after the incident.
Years later, his family is still desperate to know who is responsible.
Investigators named his wife — who was with him at the time of the crash and survived — as a person of interest in the case, but she has given limited details regarding his death.
“Justice should happen, and justice will happen either here or in the next world,” said Reed’s brother, Seth.
In addition to being a Nashville firefighter, Reed was a paramedic and a marine. Even after his death, his family has found ways to give back to the community, like raising money for first responders in Reed’s name to help other families.
“There is a kid missing out of Hendersonville right now, and if they had the latest and greatest tools, maybe it would help them find a resolution sooner,” said Reed’s brother, Jason.
