NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Metro Nashville police have arrested a man, charging him with solicitation of a minor.

Investigators said 30-year-old Scott Quarles thought he was chatting with 12 and 13-year-old girls on Snapchat and Kik. However, Quarles was communicating with undercover Tennessee Bureau of Investigation special agents with the Internet Crimes Against Children task force.

According to a police report, Quarles sent sexually explicit messages and pictures and asked for sexually explicit images in return. Investigators said Quarles talked about wanting to get the girls pregnant and made plans to meet up with them at a mall.

“The chats were graphic and sexual in nature, and the investigation revealed that Quarles sent instructions on how to download an application where he could track their ovulation cycle in an effort to impregnate them. He also sent multiple nude photos and videos of himself,” the TBI said.

Quarles is charged with one count of solicitation of a minor, aggravated statutory rape, rape of a child and 10 counts of solicitation/exploitation of a minor by electronic means. He is being held at the Davidson County Jail with a $310,000 bond.

He is due in court on Thursday.

“The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone who may have been contacted by Quarles, or someone using the name scofett on the KIK app or Paul Herring (pherring37) on Snapchat, are encouraged to contact the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND,” the TBI added.
