Former Sheriff found guilty on sodomy charge
A jury convicted former Todd County Sheriff W.D. “Billy” Stokes of third-degree sodomy last week.

Todd County, KY (WSMV) -According to our news partners at WKDZ radio, a jury convicted former Todd County Sheriff, W.D. Stokes, of third-degree sodomy.
Jurors determined Stokes engaged in “deviant sexual intercourse” with an inmate at the Todd County Detention Center in April 2022, where he was employed as a deputy jailer.
His trial lasted three days and the jury recommended a two-year prison sentence.
His sentencing scheduled for Wednesday, September 4.
WKDZ reports that a sex offender evaluation was also ordered.
