SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. (WSMV) - UPDATE: Springfield Police have identified the body found early Thursday morning, according to Smokey Barn News.

SBN identified the victim as 53-year-old Christopher Darden, of Springfield.

Darden’s body was found in the yard of a home in the 1700 block of South Main Street at around 4:15 a.m.

Police said there is currently no apparent cause of death, but no foul play is suspected at this time.

PREVIOUS: A body found in the yard of a Springfield home early Thursday morning sparked a police investigation.

The body was discovered at a home near South Main Street and 21st Avenue around 4:15 a.m. Thursday, according to Smokey Barn News.

Robertson County EMS said detectives are looking at whether the person was homeless, Smokey Barn reports.
